Classic Cinnamon Yeast Coffee Cake

Ingredients for Cinnamon Yeast Coffee Cake:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 glass and a half of flour
  • 1 glass and a half of sugar
  • Half a glass of sunflower oil
  • Half a glass of milk
  • 1 packet of yeast
  • One apple
  • Cinnamon powder
  • Ginger


1- In a bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Then add the oil and milk. We beat again.

2- Previously, we combine the flour with the yeast and incorporate it into the bowl. We mix everything very well.

3- Grated a little ginger and put it in the container. Peel the apple, cut it into cubes and add it too. With a spatula, remove the dough so that these last two ingredients are integrated.

4- Spread butter in a mold suitable for an oven. We dump the mixture and place it in the oven (it must be preheated to 180ºC) for approximately 30 minutes at 180ºC.

5- When the 30 minutes pass, we puncture with a stick or knife the sponge cake. If it comes out wet, we leave it 5 minutes more. When the stick comes out dry, we remove the cake from the oven.

Who Wants Some Warm Dinner Rolls, Straight From the Oven?

As boring as many make it out to be, bread is a very essential part of our lives. In fact, baking bread at home can be very soothing and therapeutic. Whether it is simple flat bread, pita bread or dinner rolls, you just can’t think of a life without it.

Here are some of the interesting facts about our daily bread.

  1. Breads have been around for a long time now. They can be dated back to the Ancient Egyptians. The pita bread, in particular, has been around for about 12000 years.
  2. Bread had a really great significance for the Egyptians. They used it as a way of currency. In fact, they would leave some in the tomb for their dead.
  3. Bread is very universal. There is no culture, no country, and no religion that can own or bound the bread as its own. But it is seen as the peace offering on many occasion.
  4. In 2001, the largest pita bread was made in Greece. The dimension of pita bread was incredibly large with 6.23 x 5.24 feet. With a depth of about 3.5 cm. imagine how many lunches you can wrap up with just one bread.
  5. There is an old superstition about the bread. If you keep a nice piece of bread loaf in the cradle of your little new born baby, I will ensure that he/she remain healthy.
  6. Have you ever heard the expression “kiss the cook”? If you have, then you should know it isn’t just an expression. In old cultures, if you had the last piece of bread, it was mandatory to kiss the cook.

Here is a very simple recipe of dinner rolls that you might want to try at home.


  • All-purpose Flour: 2 Cups (or more if needed)
  • Rapid Rise yeast: 1 package
  • Sugar: 2 Tablespoon
  • Salt: ½ Teaspoon
  • Milk: ½ Cup
  • Water: ¼ Cup
  • Butter: 1 Tablespoon


  1. In a large bowl, add undissolved yeast, sugar, salt and ¾ cup of flour.
  2. Separately, take some milk, butter and water and heat them until they are very warm.
  3. Add it to the flour mixture.
  4. Beat it in an electric mixer for a couple of minutes, keep scraping the bowl occasionally.
  5. Now add about ¼ cup of flour and beat it on a high speed.
  6. Gradually add the rest of the flour to make it into soft dough.
  7. Turn the dough on a well-floured surface and knead it for about 8 to 10 minutes to make it elastic and smooth.
  8. Now cover it up and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
  9. Now divide it into 12 pieces. Shape them into balls.
  10. Place them into an 8-inch pan, cover it up and leave it in a warm place for about 30 minutes, until it is double its original size.
  11. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  12. Bake in the preheated until done, this will take about 20 minute.
  13. Take them out from the pan, and brush them with melted butter if you want to.
  14. Serve warm
